Synopsis:
Fast X is a 2023 American action film directed by Louis Leterrier from a screenplay written by Dan Mazeau and Justin Lin, who also co-wrote the story with Zach Dean. It is the sequel to F9 (2021), the tenth main installment, and the eleventh installment in the Fast & Furious franchise. It stars Vin Diesel as Dominic Toretto alongside an ensemble cast including Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, John Cena, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang, Scott Eastwood, Daniela Melchior, Alan Ritchson, Helen Mirren, Brie Larson, Rita Moreno, Jason Statham, Jason Momoa, and Charlize Theron. In the film, Dom must protect his family from Dante Reyes, who seeks revenge for his father’s death and the loss of his family’s fortune.
The best thing:
The characters are interesting and hyper-aware of their status which bleeds over from F9. Aquaman, I mean Jason Momoa, is getting revenge on Groot..Vin Diesel for the death of his father and theft his his family’s money. The setting in getting around Rome, Back to Brazil, Portugal and other scenes were beautifully shot. Momoa as the villain took some time to get used to. He was very eccentric but thoroughly entertainingly crazy. The kind of over the top Joker to Dom’s batman.
The worst thing:
The movie’s story is typical, but they have to out do homeboys in space and Dom using his car to swing between mountains. Now we have cars trying to stop Bombs, driving down a dam, and children flying from one car to the next. IT has got to be pretty ridiculous.
Recommendation:
This movie is recommended for a couple of reason:
1. It is the end of the Dom’s journey or beginning of the end,
2. For 25 year, we have spent hours of lives with these characters and although the antics get sillier, we still want Dom to expand his family, end with a cook-out and the cowboy with one last hooraw! This one will not have an editorial written about it because it will be released once Fast X2 or Fast 11 is released.
