Train to Busan arrives Home with Fresh Take on the Zombie Genre

Train to Busan or Busan Haeng (???) is one of those gems that comes along and infuse life into a genre. The zombie genre is being beaten to death with a lot of bad but there is a lot of good and Train to Busan (English Title)/ ???-Busan Haeng in Hanguel. Starring Gong Yoo (Hit TV show Coffee Prince, Hit Movie – The Suspect -???) as Seok Woo, new comer KIM Soo-an as Soo-An with some very influential characters put on a show that told a horrific tale of survival on the bullet train in South Korea (Republic of South Korea).

Synopsis: Sok-woo and his daughter Soo-ahn are boarding the KTX, a fast train that shall bring them from Seoul to Busan. But during their journey, the train is overrun by zombies which kill several of the train staff and other passengers. While the KTX is shooting towards Busan, the passengers have to fight for their lives against the zombies.

The movie is a slow burn thrill ride that keeps building tension. I don’t want to give anything thing but the normal/cliche zombie scares are reinvented with some new takes as well. It is a complete story with good deaths and turns that will really pull at your heart to make you care for the cast of characters. I absolutely love this movie! It is possibly in my Top 10 in the genre. Also, be on the look for the review from the podcast Friendly Fire.
